International Textbook Donations

Our Focus

The Canadian School Book Exchange (CSBE) specializes in providing used textbooks to schools in the Canadian school system.  Sometimes teachers and school administrators ask us what they should do with resources that we are not able to resell because they are too dated or replaced by newer approved learning resources.

We send Books to...

Textbooks that are no longer usable in Canada are either provided to organizations that can find a new home for these resources abroad or properly recycled.

CSBE has worked with various charitable organizations to send textbooks to Haiti, Grenada, Kenya, Ghana, India, South Africa, Canada (Governor Generals Program).  To date we have donated over 250,000 textbooks.  

 

What should I do?

 

If you are a teacher in a Canadian school, call us at (800) 335-5043 and we will quickly tell you if there is a market for your surplus used textbooks and their potential value.  We are interested in books that are in any condition, even partial class sets, damaged books and manuals.

 

If you are a charitable organization interested in obtaining textbooks or wish to make a donation, please contact Hugh Middleton at  (800) 335-5043 ext. 201, or Victor Middleton at ext. 202.  We will determine if we are able to help you with any suitable resources that we have located.

 

If you are an individual with books to donate please call us at (905) 828-7200 and ask for customer service.  We will let you know if we can receive the books you would like to donate.  Please note that we do not pick up books.  You will need to arrange drop-off.
